Course inside Miracles : It really is Just what It really is

Maybe you have heard the expression “it is what it is”? What does that expression mean exactly?

Before I understood the deeper meaning with this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating above the bottom imperiously imparting wisdom that could take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since how this is my last life in the world and the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.

What is the IT that people are currently talking about here? According to the Course in Miracles, IT is truth, specifically God’s truth. How come it vital that you emphasize that it’s God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not ready to accept interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have result in an array of religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared with a group and that offers the members a subject of devotion.”

Who devised the system of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? According to the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is to return to an ideal state to be acim lesson 1.There is no thought or action in the state to be, you only are. What mustn’t be forgotten may be the underlying thread of most religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.

Put another way, “it is what it is” could be rewritten to “God’s love is the only truth and it is absolute” and this truth knows no bounds and is timeless.
